Health Ministry
The main objective of the Health Ministry is to promote the well being of our parishioners and reach out to those in our community. They do this by organizing preventive programs, supporting parishioners to lead healthier lives, and visiting those who are ill. Some of their contributions include: regular blood pressure screenings, veggie-of-week program, transportation services, meals, card ministry, prayer shawl ministry, and sponsoring the Community Health and Wellness Fair. The Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 2004 and has touched the lives of parishioners and others in our community ever since.
In association with Episcopal Retirement Homes Parish Health Ministry (PHM) program, which assists congregations throughout central and southern Ohio with developing or enhancing a parish nurse/ health ministry, we participate in programs such as the 5-A-Day program, which encourages everyone to eat fruits and vegetables and the Walk 50 Miles in 50 Days, which is a great way to get in to shape. Our parish health nurse, Marian Riestenberg, organizes the St. James Health Ministry.
